Fishbowl Time and Labor has the ability to capture the GPS location of an employee as they clock in and out. This can be used on any modern desktop or mobile web browser. The accuracy of the location will be determined by the hardware available on the device.
To turn this feature on, go to the Add-ons menu and click on Activate under the GPS Tagging icon.
Allowing GPS access when clocking in for the first time
On each new computer or device you will need to allow Fishbowl Time and Labor to have access to the GPS location details. When clocking in for the first time , Fishbowl Time and Labor will request access from the browser. This only needs to be done once.
Chrome
After clicking the clock in button, a message will display at the top of the screen requesting access to your computer’s location. Simply press the Allow button to start capturing the location.
Firefox
Firefox will display an approval message at the top left. In order for the GPS location to function properly, the Always Share Location option must be selected
Internet Explorer
Internet Explorer will display an approval message at the bottom. In order for the GPS location to function properly, the Always Allow option must be selected.
Viewing GPS location details
The GPS location is captured when an employee clocks in and out. When a GPS location has been successfully captured, it will appear in the Time Cards module as a small location icon next to the clock in and clock out times. By clicking on the GPS location icon you can see the location on a map.
